Putte i Parken

Hey! Moonling here. Last week I went to Putte i Parken.

It was a 4-day music festival which took place in Mariebergsskogen in Karlstad.

Although I don't often listen to this kind of music, there were quite a few artists I really had pleasure to witness live. Here's several videos that I shot with my old-fashioned blue moonphone:

Graveyard (like most of the other PIP bands) were the band that I heard  for the first time. Really liked their mix of hard rock, blues and psychedelic music and already piratebayed their latest album.

Mire Kay are self-described as a "pop-melancholy-folk duo". True to the first part. However, there were 3 persons on the stage. Mesmerizing and somehow very familiar voices and beautiful cello.

American rock musician Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave) was the headliner on the first festival day. Simple songs with personal and ills-of-the-day lyrics and perfect control of his voice. Great singer.

Norwegian singer Ane Brun and her band were pretty much kinky in the good sense of the word. Something that doesn't allow your tongue to call it "pops". But seriously, nice to listen to and to look at.

"Samling provide warm folkish rock with delicately enhanced psychedelic vibes." Well, I've been pretty much into such stuff lately (thinking of Ulver 2012) and these guys just hit the nail in the head.

I was really impressed by Linnea Olsson playing live. Very different thing that you might get from the records. A looping pedal (my first guess was Ableton) with her cello and voice made it an unforgettable experience.

Botanicula!

I was a good boy and aunty Rymdhund bought me Botanicula, a point-and-click adventure by Amanita Design (also authors of Samorost and Machinarium). Amazing design, music and sounds.

And here comes the moon, of course!

P.S. Botanicula is helping the World Land Trust to protect rainforests.

I don't speak much, but here's an extra photo and it speaks for itself.

Hello World!

My name is Måningen (Norwegian for "the moonling"). I come from the moon and that explains my name. Here at Blue Moon Nimbus I'll be posting about what's going on out there. Hello world and back out!
